Commercial and Events Manager

  • Full-time position (1 YEAR CONTRACT)

Northern Districts Cricket Association, the largest Association in New Zealand, is seeking the services of a driven, strategic thinker to manage the Events and Commercial obligations of ND.

Responsibilities include:

·To plan and execute the experience and promotion of ND  events to grow attendance and engagement in our brands

·To grow commercial revenue through existing and new business opportunities

·To manage the sales and delivery of ND's public and corporate membership and events, including match day hospitality, golf day, corporate cricket, auction night, fundraisers and other opportunities, as required

·To manage the relationship of ND sponsors and to oversee the deliverables

·To focus and deliver an exceptional consumer experience during cricket events and tournaments of which ND is responsible

The ideal applicant will have:

·Proven success in commercial and event management
·Background in commercial sales and relationship management
·Strong work ethic
·Imagination
·Willing to test the boundaries of convention
·Effective written and verbal communication skills
·An ability to work flexible hours

·An ability to self-manage and effectively prioritise tasks

Pathway Manager - Counties Manukau Cricket

Counties Manukau Cricket (CMCA) is one of the six district cricket associations that form Northern District's Cricket. The association's administrative base is in Papakura and its playing base is in Weymouth.

Become part of the new delivery of pathway cricket across Northern Districts. We're looking for a Pathway Manager, based in Papakura.  In this role you'll be nurturing the next Ish Sodhi, Tony Hill, Adil Somani and Katie Gurrey.

Much of the role will be lifting the quality and depth of our age group teams, coaches and umpires. 

Responsibilities include:

·Being an active participant in a wider and dynamic Pathway team across Northern Districts

·Facilitate high quality cricket experiences to ensure continued development of cricket capabilities amongst pathway athletes, coaches, and umpires

·Identify and fast track players, coaches, and umpires with high achievement capabilities

·Support CMCA junior teams to attend NDCA events

The ideal applicant will have:

·A professional and respectful approach both on and off the field

·Experience in coaching promising athletes and/or playing experience and qualifications commensurate with the requirements of the position

·Highly developed knowledge and understanding of athlete development

·Preparedness to embrace coaching trends and developments, including understanding the concepts of sports science/sports medicine and the ability to incorporate these into training programs

·Ability to foster and create learning environments for our players, coaches and umpires

·Ability to communicate effectively within the male and female pathway at all levels

·Capable of working independently and as part of a team with the flexibility to interact with a wide range of staff/stakeholders including professional staff and volunteers

A NZC coaching certificate (or equivalent) is highly desirable
