Board Members

Northern Districts Cricket Association presents an opportunity for four suitably qualified people to join its Board. A list of desired attributes include:

  • A minimum of two (2) female directors
  • A minimum of one (1) director having strong high-performance sport knowledge (cricket preferred)
  • A minimum of one (1) director having strong organisational change/Human Resource experience
  • A minimum of one (1) director having willingness and appropriate experience to chair
  • A minimum of one (1) director having community sport knowledge (cricket preferred)
  • A minimum of one (1) director having strong health and safety, and risk management experience in the sporting organisation or not-for-profit sector.

The ND Board, over time, wishes to be more representative of its constituents. That is, ND Cricket would like to see a Board that has representation from both genders, from different age brackets, and include a mix of ethnic groups including Maori.

The capacity to commit a reasonable amount of unpaid time and energy is also assumed to be a given for people looking to secure a place on the ND Board.

One Role - Two Sports - Double the Opportunities

Northern Districts Cricket and Netball Waikato Bay of Plenty have a unique opportunity for a highly motivated events and/or communications professional to contribute to the events and communications activities of both organisations.

The role of Events & Communications Officer is a new role, to be equally split between the two sports and organisations. The Events & Communications Officer will work mainly for ND Cricket in Spring & Summer, and mainly for Netball WBOP in Autumn and Winter. They will work in close collaboration with the Netball WBOP and ND Cricket staff teams, based in Hamilton, and our key strategic event partners - Netball New Zealand & New Zealand Cricket, venues, ticketing agencies and commercial & grant funding partners.

The Events & Communications Officer will contribute to the planning, coordinating and delivery of the Netball WBOP events (Magic and Beko League home games, Zone tournaments, and special events), ND Cricket events (NZC internationals, Knights and Spirit home games) and the organisation's communications activities, primarily via digital and social media channels. The role is suited to an events or comms administrator/officer, with at least 1 year's work experience.
