Northern Districts Cricket Association (NDCA) today announced that, after seven years, Ben MacCormack will be stepping down as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in January 2025.

NDCA Chair Braedon Makgill said:

“NDCA board wants to acknowledge, and express our appreciation, for the significant contribution Ben has made to cricket in the region over his time. Ben has excellently led through a period of significant change at NDCA and the wider Cricket Network in New Zealand. Under Ben’s leadership the organisation has made significant progress on its strategic plan and Ben is leaving the organisation in a strong position to continue to succeed. On behalf of the wider cricket network and all those that have worked with Ben we would like to say thank you for his service to the organisation and its people.

The Board will commence the search to identify and appoint the next Northern Districts Cricket CEO immediately, in order to ensure a smooth leadership transition.”

Regarding Ben's decision to step down as CEO, Ben commented “It has been a privilege to serve this proud Association from day one. An organisation that has long had an ethos to 'play our way'. I sincerely thank the Board, stakeholders, partners, volunteers, fans, players and my incredible team that help bring cricket to life in this great region.

Our players have provided many amazing memories during my tenure and I will miss being a part of that. For me, leadership roles like this are primarily about people. I’ve had the joy of working with an incredible workforce that genuinely care deeply about cricket and the communities they serve. Thank you to every one of you.

After 7 years, I now get to enjoy summer with my family. Having watched my children grow up on the grassy banks of our beautiful cricket grounds, I'll now enjoy it with them from the other side as a fan.

I wish all our ND teams the best for this season and the one’s to follow. I will be cheering loudly from the outer.”
