18 Feb 2022An excellent performance with the ball has propelled our Northern Districts Men to a bonus point win over the Otago Volts in Whangarei.
Our bowlers did the hard work up front dismissing the visitors for 139 in the 40th over. Matt Fisher (3-24) was the best of the bunch and picked up three wickets. Both Scott Kuggeleijn (2-26) and Joe Walker (2-35) finished with two and Mitch Santner (1-25) also got one. Two run outs were affected as well.
With the bat, Katene Clarke (28 off 12) got the lads off to a flyer before Tim Seifert (51 off 46) and debutant Chris Swanson (46 off 52) put on 65 runs for the third wicket to put the result beyond doubt. Peter Bocock was the one to hit the winning runs in the 23rd over to give our men a comprehensive six wicket win.
Our Northern Districts Men will have a day off before doing battle with the same side at the same ground on Sunday.
