FORMER BLACKCAP BRENT ARNEL NAMED AS WOMEN’S ASSISTANT COACH

FORMER BLACKCAP BRENT ARNEL NAMED AS WOMEN’S ASSISTANT COACH7 Oct 2024

We are pleased to announce Brent Arnel as the new Northern Districts Women’s Assistant Coach. Cricket fans will need no introduction to Brent, who grew up in Waiuku and represented Counties Manukau before stepping into the Northern Districts first-class side in 2006.

The fast bowler played six test matches for New Zealand from 2010-12 and took 394 first-class wickets in a distinguished 111-game career with Northern Districts and later Wellington.

After a thorough recruitment process with a number of quality applicants, Brent was the standout candidate and we believe he will form a great partnership with Head Coach Peter Borren, continuing the progress of our women’s squad.

Following Brent’s retirement from playing, he has continued to develop his coaching across a number of performance programmes. He is no stranger to the ND Women’s squad, having filled the role as Pace Bowling Coach last season. We know he’s excited to get stuck in and make a difference with the team.
