A career day from Nensi Patel sees our Northern Districts Women claim their third straight win in the Hallyburton Johnstone Shield after beating the Canterbury Magicians by seven wickets today.
Patel claimed her maiden five wicket bag and finished with figures of 5-46 in the first innings, as well as an unbeaten 33 from 32 balls with the bat in the second.
The run chase was anchored with strong performances from the top order as Caitlin Gurrey (58) notched her 7th List A half century and shared big partnerships with Kate Anderson (46) and Holly Topp (47).
Earlier it was Patel as well as skipper Eimear Richardson (2-46) and Emma Baker (1-16) who helped restrict the Magicians to 229/8 from their 50 overs.
