It was the Colin de Grandhomme and Brett Randell show in Napier as they lead our Northern Districts Men to a 141-run victory over the Central Stags!
A crucial century from the BLACKCAPS all-rounder helped our lads post 300 in their second innings, finishing with a lead of 223. Then on the final day Randell ripped through the hosts batting line-up, finishing with career best figures of 6-45, his second five wicket bag of the competition. He now stands alone atop the wicket taker list with 29, and also took his 50th first class wicket.
Earlier in the match the side were on the backfoot after being dismissed for 172 on a green Mclean Park wicket. Youngster Kristian Clarke helped restrict the Stags batting to 249 all out, finishing with figures of 3-47, the best of his young career so far.
The win pushes the side up to second place in the competition and they will take on the number one team, the Auckland Aces, in Whangarei on Sunday.
