BRAVE (M) BLAST THEIR WAY TO A HOME FINAL
An unbeaten 88 off 62 balls from Tim Seifert saw the Brave through to an unassailable lead atop the Dream11 Super Smash standings after an emphatic 8 wicket win over second placed Canterbury Kings. The wicket keeper batsman was aptly supported by Jeet Raval (36 from 22 balls) and Katene Clarke (31 from 23).
With the ball Mitch Santner (2-34) and Trent Boult (2-37) picked up two wickets apiece and off spinner Joe Walker (1-29) was his usual economical self.
In the women’s game, Amy Satterthwaite stole the show with a phenomenal 114, the second highest score ever in New Zealand Women’s Domestic T20 Cricket. Our girls offered a strong fight but eventually fell short by 24 runs. Sam Barriball (31 from 16 balls) and Brooke Halliday (28 from 18) were our best with the bat.
Our men and women will now head to the capital to take on the Firebirds and Blaze on Monday.
