ND Cricket are delighted to announce that John Bracewell will be the new head coach for the Northern Districts Men's team (fist-class and limited overs).
Starting immediately, Bracewell brings a wealth of coaching experience within New Zealand and abroad. Northern Districts Cricket CEO Ben MacCormack is thrilled with the appointment.
"John obviously comes with a huge level of varied coaching experience from all across the world, he also feels connected to our philosophy of developing future BLACKCAPS."
"To have secured the services of someone of John's calibre speaks volumes for the organisation and the culture that has been built here for many years, he is now part of the Northern Districts family" MacCormack concluded.
Bracewell's coaching career has included roles with the BLACKCAPS, Ireland, Auckland and Gloucester and has taken New Zealand to semi-finals at T20 and ODI world cups along with many domestic titles. He is looking forward to building on the good foundation laid by the coaching team over the last 3-5 years.
"I spent some time with the ND lads over the summer working with coaches and was very impressed with the athletic presentation of the players and forward thinking nature of the administration and support staff. It was great that the courage of their conviction paid dividends. I'm really excited to be working with this organisation."
Graeme Aldridge and Matthew Horne will continue to deliver as specialist coaches across the Men's programs and Gareth Hopkins as the Knights T20 Men's Coach.
